ENBY BC - 01 - Intro
Hello! Welcome to my breast cancer blog.
Can you guess what I will be talking about? If you guessed breast cancer you get a gold star ⭐️. Sarcasm aside, you’re probably here because you are curious about my breast cancer, or you care about me. Maybe both! Join me on my new and exciting breast cancer journey. /s
A bit about me
I’m currently 31 years old. I was raised + reside in Calgary, Alberta, Canada - Also known as Treaty 7 territory, on Turtle Island.
I am white, (currently) able-bodied, non-binary (born female), pansexual, etc. etc.
I’m an illustrator, muralist, drag performer, thrifter, birder, gemini, and extrovert.
A bit about my cancer
Diagnosed Sept 6 2023
Right side of my right breast and axillary lymph nodes
Invasive ductal carcinoma (idc), estrogen-positive
Currently Stage II
Its stressing me out
Why I’m sharing this
To centralize info about my cancer for my loved ones, stalkers, and enemies.
To improve the amount of info on breast cancer out there for young people, but especially for transmasculine and non-binary people. In my search for information I’ve observed a lot of discussions around breast cancer are pretty explicitly framed as a disease for older women. It’s comforting knowing I can contribute to a shift in this discourse.
To humanize my experience for those who do not have breast cancer, and provide a relatable space for those experiencing it.
To present info in a more approachable manner using a combination of art, writing, video(?), and photos.
To make sense of my experiences and feelings surrounding my diagnosis and treatment, and release stress and anxiety surrounding them. This is my own lil’ cancer diary.
What I need right now
When people find out I have cancer they ask what they can do for me. I’m very grateful for this!
What I need, from most involved to least involved:
Donate to my gofundme
Have me over for a meal
Invite me to an activity, plan an outing with me
Check in on me and my partner, Bryce (if she knows you). Let us know you are thinking of us.
Send positive energy: cast a spell, send a prayer, perform a ritual. All good energy helps!
Have me and my partner in your thoughts
